Delete your account and data
Gilean lets you remove your data at any time, directly from the app. You can choose between two options: wipe your data while keeping your account, or permanently delete your account together with all associated data.
Option 1 — Delete your account permanently
This removes your account and every piece of data linked to it. The action is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Open the Gilean app and sign in.
- Go to the Account tab (bottom-right).
- Tap Account data.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
You will be signed out automatically and your account will no longer exist.
Option 2 — Wipe your data, keep the account
If you only want to start over without deleting your account, you can wipe your content while staying signed in.
- Open the Gilean app and sign in.
- Go to the Account tab.
- Tap Account data.
- Tap Wipe all data.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
Your account, email and name remain active. Everything else (see the table below) is removed.

Deletion is permanent. Once your data is removed it cannot be recovered, so please export anything you want to keep (for example your shopping list or meal plan) before you proceed.
Can't access the app?
If you can no longer sign in and want your account or data deleted, we can do it for you. Email us from the address associated with your account and we will process the request.

Please include the email you registered with. We process deletion requests within 30 days, and usually within 3 business days.
Data retention
When you delete your account or wipe your data, the records are removed from our active systems immediately. Residual copies in encrypted backups are rotated out within 30 days. We do not keep deleted personal data beyond what is required by law.
